Balancing the Scales of Justice

Please remember that I am earning a doctorate and the papers you read in this section were written when I was earning an undergraduate's degree. As I recently read these papers I had a smirk on my face but that is because I can see how far I have grown. There can be quite a difference between undergraduate and graduate / post graduate writing. I graduated from my bachelor's program in 2005 so the references are dated, but no matter; the writings remind me where I came from and may help high school and undergraduate students today.

I know that people are going to read my undergraduate papers above and either think I am advocating the rights of minorities; putting the White man down; or of course a multitude of other viewpoints are a possibility. I do advocate the rights of all people. I have a great understanding that different races can not ever live peaceably in one nation and anyone who refutes that can prove otherwise to me. I do believe that the crime reports are imperfect and over-representation of any group of people is a possibility. Further; I would never put the White man down and that is not because I am Caucasian but because we Americans were not given the tools to understand people of other races and cultures who migrate to our country in such large numbers.

I was required to write a paper and find the truth and I believe I did just that. That is all we can really ever do, that is; not to be extreme and we will some how find balance within ourselves as well as within the grounded systems in America.
